Founded in December 2020, JP Home Furnishings was born from the vision of three women who set out to create an upholstery brand that checked all the boxes—and then some. Accomplished merchandisers, buyers, and marketing pros, they saw an opportunity to rethink how upholstery could be designed, made, and brought to market.

In 2023, JP Home entered an exciting new chapter. Founder Carla Mata bought out her partners and brought the company under the Whitewood Industries umbrella—home to Custom Contract Furnishings, John Thomas Furniture, Whitewood Ready-to-Finish, and International Concepts. As an ESOP with diverse channels, Whitewood gave JP Home the stability and resources to grow in an uncertain manufacturing climate, while preserving its creative spirit.

Design at JP Home is a team effort, but it’s Carla’s fresh, fearless perspective that sets the tone. With no formal design background, she approaches each piece with curiosity, joy, and no boundaries—always striving to make things not just beautiful, but better. Collaborative at heart, her goal is to bring clients’ visions to life.

That philosophy carries through the details of JP Home’s High Point showroom at 215 S Main Street. Occupying 6,000 square feet on the second floor of a historic 1952 building, the space is a vibrant showcase where designers can expect impeccable tailoring, contract-grade craftsmanship, and unmatched flexibility. From multiple fabric applications, COM and slipcovers to customizable welts, nail heads, toss pillows, and a pillow-only program, JP Home thrives on special order and development. Proudly made in America, the brand has a $3,000 opening order, with floor samples often available.
