German artistry and craftsmanship are alive and well in High Point—and can be experienced at a collaborative showroom and workshop known as 518 North Destination Design.

Founded by Godehard Pöttker, a leader in German manufacturing with deep roots at Pöttker and Rodam, and guided creatively by internationally recognized designer Olaf Kitzig, who maintains a satellite office within the showroom, 518 North represents the spirit of European design and precision engineering—bringing it to a broader, design-savvy audience in High Point.

This curation of German brands, unique to the city, is united by a shared commitment to quality, intention, and enduring value. The showroom presents a refined mix of solid wood furniture from Rodam; upholstery by Werther; lighting from Eloa and Holtkötter; rugs by Kymo and Olaf Kitzig; stools from Pomp; and iconic travel trolleys from Bordbar.

Complementing the showroom, the on-site workshop is open year-round to engineers, designers, and industry professionals. This destination for innovation spotlights the behind-the-scenes mechanisms that elevate modern furniture design, including table hardware by Pöttker USA, Italian-crafted hardware from Marella, woodworking by VD Werkstätten, and indoor and outdoor tabletops by Severin.

Housed in a deceptively expansive, circa-1972, 10,600-square-foot building—formerly home to Rickety Bridge Winery—the two-level showroom includes a generous outdoor hospitality area with bar and fireplace, plus parking for 50 cars. Select spaces are available for meetings and gatherings.

Many lines offer customization, inventory is supported by a nearby warehouse, and the opening minimum order is just one piece.
