HPXD - High Point x Design

High Point on Her Mind

“Why couldn’t that become the North American center of design?”

That’s the question Veronika Miller (aka V) is asking about High Point.

And considering V has spent the last 15 years taking designers around the world—to Milan, Paris, London and beyond—it’s worth asking what she sees here.

A lot, as it turns out.

A year-round ecosystem. The walls between furniture, kitchen + bath, technology and other design disciplines beginning to come down. And an opportunity for designers to go deeper at a time when more content, more product and more noise don’t necessarily add up to more knowledge or a solid business.

I’ve known of Veronika for years and have had the opportunity to know her personally more recently. She is a connector, conceptualist and creator who listens closely to this industry—and then tends to build something in response.

We talked about where design is heading, why product knowledge matters more than ever, the evolution of Designhounds, and what she’s building next—including a hands-on Bootcamp in High Point this October.
