Steven Beck Furniture | Open by appointment

As the third generation to turn wood and build furniture in his family, one might say the trade is in Steven Beck’s DNA. While his great-grandfather built frames for a local High Point manufacturer, it was his granddad, John Arnold Beck, who taught Beck the craft hands-on.

“What I love about designing and making furniture is seeing someone’s dream vision become reality… as well as the satisfaction that comes from putting in the sweat-equity and completing something for a purpose.” – Steven Beck

Beck launched his woodworking studio in 2019. His work spans styles from modern farmhouse to European-inspired to custom. Often inspired by reclaimed materials, he and his team craft and assemble everything by hand locally in High Point, collaborating often with designers and other manufacturers. From consult to design, including milling and kiln-drying its own lumber, Beck can pretty much design for every room in the house.

Prior, to focusing on his namesake studio, Beck ran Black Dog Home retail shops and cafes that were located in Jamestown and High Point, NC. Today, Steven is collaborating on a new brand called Urban Shed which exhibits at the Design Legacy showroom in High Point. To discuss a custom furniture design or to see examples of Beck’s work anytime during the year, reach out to him for an appointment.
