Designing with a Doctor's Note

Designing with a Doctor’s Note Panel Discussion

Science in Design presents: Designing with a Doctor’s Note, a panel disussion that will bring to light the intersection of design and healthcare and leave designers with a new tool in their toolbox: WELLNESS. With design being viewed as “alternative healthcare,” we’ll explore how designers can borrow diagnoses techniques from medical professionals and vice versa to get at the root of what the client needs. Drawing from personal experience and client projects, these designers will illuminate the impact or space and the built environment on health.

Panelists are:

Dr. Rebecca Tapia a rehabilitation medical professional at the University of Texas, and design consultant with a podcast called “Real Conversations with Aging Parents.”

Angela Harris, founder and leader of award-winning interior architecture firm, TRIO that works  on planned communities, model homes and sales centers, multifamily projects and more with the nation’s leading builders, developers, and product manufacturers.

Patricia Kennedy, principal of Rendezvous Design, based in Ft. Lauderdale who specializes in Interiors for Wellness and Neurosensorial Design, and is a Certified Aging in Place specilaist and SFC green leader.
