Visionary Thayer Coggin and pioneering designer Milo Baughman founded the company that bears the former’s name in 1953. In contemporary parlance, it’s more than fair to say the iconic brand was in the room where it happened: the advent of mid-century modern design.
Today, Thayer Coggin is both a legacy brand and a leader. The collection includes original mid-century classics still in production, as well as wholly new designs – quite likely tomorrow’s coveted collectibles. Every piece is made by hand and made to order in the Thayer Coggin High Point workshop. Here, you’ll find workstations, but not assembly lines. A single skilled craftsman takes every piece from start to finish, from the inside to the outside. Pride of craftsmanship is alive and well in High Point. It’s personal at Thayer Coggin.
Thayer Coggin is also an innovator. Historically, the showroom, adjacent to the workshop, has only been open during High Point Market. Great brands know when to pivot, change and open up. HPxD is thrilled to keep company (and keep up) with Thayer Coggin.
**NOTES ON HOURS:
The Thayer-Coggin workshop and showroom is located on the outskirts of High Point. It is always wise to call in advance (336-841-6000), even during scheduled opening hours.
