There is something to be said for creative collaboration. It can be quite magical as one idea sparks another, and diverse perspectives unite to shape something fresh and possible. That is how Taylor King, in business since 1974, continues to evolve and reimagine comfort every season.
Design direction for custom upholstery maker Taylor King is in the capable hands of a trio of women—President Nicole Bailey, Sales & Marketing Director Cass Key, and Design Director Tara Rogers. Prior to joining forces here, each woman spent no less than 20 years in various capacities in the home furnishings world, gaining experience from notable brands like Hancock & Moore, Highland House, Woodbridge Furniture, and Rowe.
To say Taylor King is well-guided is an understatement. This team is hawkish for inspiration and they conjure it everywhere. “We’re constantly observing, voting and cataloging everything we see, “ says Rogers. “The main source always boils down to textiles and pushing our boundaries with custom capabilities.”
This pride in manufacturing is evident throughout their 12,000-plus square foot High Point flagship which includes a generous work area where designers can peruse fabrics, leathers, finish options and trim. It’s also what propelled Taylor King to join HPxD. Key says, “The beauty that we create with our craft—making quality home furnishings—should be accessible, and we are excited to activate our beautiful showroom as a design center to engage with customers year-round.”
