In 1975, Braxton Culler opened its doors as an upholstery manufacturer. There were 15 employees and one salesman ready for business. The original factory off Fraley Road also served as a showroom.
As Braxton Culler grew, the company leased showroom space around town. The showroom hopping ceased, however, when they, found the right place to call home, purchasing and renovating a free-standing former auto parts distribution center on S. Elm.
The company went onto diversify its offerings, going from straight upholstery to offering a major custom ordering program that included wicker and rattan, bedroom, dining room, occasional and outdoor.
The company manufacturers in Sophia, NC, a short ride from High Point.
Normal weekly hours are Wednesday through Friday, 9 am – 5 pm, Saturday from 10 am-3 pm. Tuesday is by appointment.
Braxton Culler was purchased by Classic Home in 2020.
