Hurricane Helene Relief

We have received so many texts from friends asking us if we are alright. High Point is fine.  We are sick and sad over the destruction just hours away. Lives lost, livelihoods washed away, and mass trauma to infrastructure. The road to recovery will be painful and long.

As we learn about different relief efforts or come across good lists, we will add them here with links.

Here’s how we’ve heard the home furnishings industry is responding:

At this October Market, Sherrill Furniture Brands will donate $200,000 or 5% of gross sales, whichever is greater, from all orders placed during the market. With 7 brands under one roof, there is something great for every style.

Hooker Furnishings has created a corporate gifting site for employees and industry partners to contribute, and Hooker will match donations raised by employees through Nov. 1.

Cohab.Space works with several makers and artists in and near Marshall, NC who have been seriously impacted by Helene. Ceramicist and hospitality entrepreneur Josh Copus has set up a Go Fund Me to help rebuild parts of Marshall.

Many home furnishings brands are focusing their contributions to World Kitchen who is on the ground feeding people and recruiting volunteers. Their IG has all the info you need.

Furniture Land South is collecting essential items at 5635 Riverdale Dr, Jamestown, N.C. Trailers will be positioned between the Mart and Showroom buildings from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and all collected items from the supply list will be directly delivered to affected areas in partnership with Operation Airdrop.
